Data Entry Instructions

  1. Only enter LINK information. Editorial content should be sent directly to the webmaster. Instructions for submitting editorial copy.
  2. Each record should consist of the name that will appear in the search result, the town or locality and the full URL (starting with http://...) for linking.
  3. Links can be to web pages, directories or search results from your LGA's own web site, state government web sites, Gippsland.com, White Pages, Yellow Pages or other directories, search engines or portals.
  4. A limit of twelve (12) records per category applies.
  5. Select the search category to which the links belong from the pulldown menu at the top of the form (Step 1), then enter the link information in the fields (Step 2). (Note – the record you're entering will be highlighted in bright yellow to make identification easier. Move your cursor over the fields to see how they work.)
  6. Any current links in the database will display in the fields.

    To add a new link, select a blank set of fields. Do not overwrite an existing link.

    To update or replace a link, overwrite the existing information in a field.

    To remove a link, highlight the information in that field, then delete it.

    WARNING — clicking on the "Clear all fields" button at the foot of the form will delete ALL records in this search category. It cannot be undone.
